I just got an air whistle tinder off of ebay. New, in the box. It has a "Whistle activation button". When the transformer is wired through the button the whistle blows when the button is turned on. My whistle button on the transformer won't blow the whistle. Just the whistle button that came with the tinder. Is there any way to set up the wiring so that the transformer whistle button will work it, and not have to use the separate activation switch? Thanks!

check the power terminals on the supply pack, is there a set labeled "whistle"?..if not, send me the specs on the supply, and I'll definitely find you a way to do it

Thanks "CTHETRAINS" (Neat name) ---I'm using a Lionel ZW 250 watt Transformer. As you most likely know, it has the whistle "buttons" or "switches". Terminals are just labeled A, B, C, D. Set up to run four trains. Thanks!

Actually it's working somewhat acceptably now. I reversed the wires to my lock on. Now if the train is running it works Ok. The whistle is turning (too slow to make the sound)all of the time though. When the train is in neutral, if I turn more than half throttle on, the whistle blows without pushing the button. But, as I say, it's workable this way. I really appreciate your efforts to help. ---Take Care!

If the whistle is running all the time, the DC sensitive relay on the whistle unit is out of adjustment. It may also be dirty and/or gummed up. If you have a parts supplier (I assume it is a Lionel) in the area, he can sell you a new relay. Installation is simple - 2 or 3 wires to solderis all. You're welcome, Lloyd. Just trying to help. Thank you, Tom; as I told Lloyd after I found out what he was working with, I'm not too familiar with larger scale equipment, so I never even thought about the possibility of replaceable parts on the whistle itself. Hey, Lloyd, good morning
