My model of this (under construction) makes significantly more gear noise on curves (28" radius) than on straights, and needs a little more power to go the same speed on curves vs. straights. Overall, it makes somewhat more noise than other Bowser locos I have. Are these problems common, and is there any solution? What is the best minimum radius for this locomotive?

Are your drive gear tolerances correct? Sounds like on the curves, you have a little too much play in the main drive wheels which will "slip" the worm gear out of alaignment. Did you check the gauge on the drivers before installing them. I have had this problem with some Bow wow's before.(But not often). Also could be the depth that the worm gear is sitting into the main drive gear.
Good luck,
Scott
