I am having trouble breaking in a set of Proto2k PA-1's.... The first one went smoothly ... The second one is making a fairly loud whining sound at high speed... Also , a small brass ( contact ??? ) fell out of the front truck... Any suggestions for a newbie ?? Thanks for your help !!

If what Challenger suggests is not the problem, try running in as I mentioned in your question on Varney Trains.
