Hi

I was wondering how to make rail car graffiti . do i use paint or what else. And any ideas of what to write would be great or pics of rail car graffiti.

Don't know how far back your Modelrailroader goes but the July 2000 edition had a nice recap and it works.

PENTEL GEL PENS!, the ones labeled MILKY comes in various colors, medium point(I believe).
Office supply stores.

Here's a no brainer & cheap idea for weathering faded cars and it comes from the folks at Athearn.

Spray dullcote on the car, let it dry overnight, then hit it with a pump spray of regular isopropyl alcohol.

If you don't like the results, it's reversible-
just re-spray will dullcote and it's like nothing happened(chemical re-action)

Stands out better on darker colored cars, roof,and the bull nose of my F units.

Railroad Graffiti Exchange has two HO freight cars already done up and graffitied. They also sell graffiti decals in all the scales
