I have a class 30 British Rail Engine:

The question is, it is pretty evenly weighted, however, only one set of drivers actually runs the engine and that end of the engine is a little heavier. So, my question is, would it be better to have the drivers, the motor, at the front of the train, or towards the back where it will connect to the first coach?

I find in situations similar to yours that it is better to have the heavyend towards the train. This allows the lighter end to guild the loco through trackage. If it is the other way around the extra mass at the one end of the loco could send it off the tracks. It has happened to me a couple of times.
