Can anyone tell me about these? I know what roadnames are available and prices. I'm more interested in how good they are. In particular, do they run well? Do they have good reliability records? Minimum radius? Any reviews you can tell me about? Thanks.

I haven't seen them in person, but all of the P1K locos that I've seen run on P2K drives with less detail on the shell.

The first release was reviewed by MR Nov 2000. DCC ready, directional headlights, drawbar pull: 1.4 oz, weight 22 oz, Min radius 18" MR"s model started and operated smoothly and quietly through the speed range. However, the starting voltage is quite high. One truck is powered by a five-pole skew-wound motor and has all wheel pick up current The top speed is only half of the prototype's 85 MPH.
Here's a suggestion: Install some sitting passengers by Preiser since there is an interior.
Available thru www.walthers.com Click on manufacturers, Click on the letter P. Scroll down to Preiser, click and then click again to view product line.
