love your meaning of MAGA--thats exactly who/what they are. to answer your question--probably not long. they are already trying by freezing grants,but had to backtrack when there was a big uproar.
MAGA will prob blame Biden and Obama for all of Amtrak's ills, say its because of DEI programs--like how Trump blamed DEI hiring practices at the FAA for the plane crash in DC--saying its "because the FAA has hired disabled people". Its so pathetic.

No administration of this type has ever been adversarial towards Amtrak in particular. DOGE itself has not been explicit on the subject.

JFTR, the Gateway project has not been targeted; just a few days ago, a contract was awarded to design and build the new tunnels under the Hudson River.
