The Rotating or swiveling light on the engine is refered to as a MARS light. The MARS is always in caps. What does MRAS stand for?

One of the manufactures of oscillating warning lights (as they were officially known -- but no one called them that) was the Mars company. The other was Pyle National, and I believe Santa Fe did some home made jobs. I have never heard where the Mars Company got its name from. Pyle National made a lot of fixed headlights and other lights too, so it was natural to refer to the oscillating lights as Mars lights. Mars offered both figure 8 and circular patterens, Pyle National only made the circular sweep type.
