Following a recommendation by the National Transportation Safety Board, Amtrak has removed the last of its Talgo VI trainsets from Cascades services linking Eugene, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver B.C. Withdrawal of the Talgo VI trains was recommended by the National Transportation Safety Board following the December 2017 Du Pont derailment. The Washington Department of Transportation, in collaboration with Amtrak, is currently in the process of acquiring new trains for use on the Cascades corridor. See more.
