Can anyone update me on the operations of the SMVRR? I thought they dried up when the sugar beets at Betteravia closed down but was very surprised to see this last weekend the number of boxcars and hoppers set out at several places along their tracks in Santa Maria. Saw their sign and logo on an office across from the old depot. Are 70 tonners still used as their lead off the old SP at Guadalupe becomes pretty lightweight rail.
Also saw six of their container flats 1100-1105 set out on the spur into the old Betteravia sugar beet plant.
