Typically loads up after last show which would be late Sunday 8/4, and moves out early next morning. Note that since the next venue is San Diego rather than Bay Area, as I mistakenly said on another thread here earlier, the train is likely to be handed over to BNSF in O.C.(e.g. CP College) rather than leave town via Anaheim street trackage. Could be too dark for photography unless spotlights are rolled out by local authorities as a fire captain /railfan did in New Jersey recently. Keep your scanners hot.

According to U.P. trace, equipment now handed off to BNSF with 1p.m. eta SDgo, but actual noon hour observation found nop BNSF power on seen, only twin Marlboro geeps doing switching. Suggest interested folks follow evolving story on t.o. board.

Dunno when it finally departed Anaheim as BNSF power still hadn't arrived by 5P. Train reported past Orange 7:20 and Irvine 7:30 so must have appeared on SARTCcam sometime in between.

I saw them putting the train together at the junction near Katella early this evening. The BNSF power arrived light just after 5 PM and coupled up to four passenger cars sitting on the transfer track. The power was led by a GP60M (#157, I think) that has been repainted into Heritage II, followed by a BN SD60M #9298 and Santa Fe SD75M #8227.
The rest of the circus train was sitting over in UP's small yard at the end of the branch in three sections. A UP GP40/GP38 pair in off the Marlboro job were coupled up to the flats.
I waited and waited and waited, but nothing happened. No switching, no movement no nothing. Several of the crew came out and sat on the walkway of the GP40. Finally, one of the crew men walked over and said they expected to have the train together and out of the yard around 7:15. Then he got in his car and drove off. I couldn't stay around, so I didn't even get to see them put the train together.
The circus website says the next show after San Diego will be in Oakland. Does anyone know what route they will take? (My own guess is that they'd go back up BNSF, switch over onto the Olive Sub and go over Cajon and then Tehachapi.) Would like to catch them some place scenic like San Clemente.
