Hello everyone, Here's the changes to the Los Angeles and Alhambra Sub's in 2002. In April, Main 2 of the Alhambra Sub is now Main 1 of the LA Sub which makes the Alhambra single track and the LA Sub CTC 2 MT in Pomona. THe Signals at Diamond Bar have been moved 250 feet East of their former location just east of the Industry Metrolink Station. And the Alhambra Sub has a new Channel again. I heard it was 96, but I don't know for sure. It was Channel 96 before UP changed it to 27 in 1999 west of the east switch at Montclair.I'm now waiting to get info on when UP changes out the searchlight Signals for tri lights. This has been done on the Fresno Sub through the San Joaquin Valley. This is the current info on these lines.

One searchlight pair in San Gabriel at the Mission Road crossing has already been replaced, but this is due to a grade crossing upgrade.

Most if not all Searchlights will eventually be replaced on the UP and BNSF. One example is on the San Bernardino Sub in Placentia. There are two old A frame signal bridges that are going to be replaced by a new cantilever structure with GRS tri Lights and will be the new intermediates for the interlockings at Atwood and Fullerton Jct. About the tri-lights: Would they use the type that looks like a stoplight, or the one that looks like a triangle?

The only line that I know uses triangles in Sou Cal is the Ventura Sub, With the exception of the WBCS at CP Hondo (El Monte) and Signal 1242 (near the End of track at Arcadia). the rest are the vertical tri lights that are opposite of Traffic Signals. San Gabriel Sub out
