I wonder if NPB ever contemplated the loss of the PE line(s). San Clemente promotes summer rail traffic through the Metrolink Beach Cars from Riverside. Maybe NPB could not stand an increase in tourist traffic. The bus service runs well North-South, but not from the inland communities.
