Jeff
There may be a library of railroad material at the Museum of Transportaion in St Louis County. It's part of the County Park system and is in South east St Louis County, not farr from Highway 44. I know here in Denver the Transportation Museum has a small volunteer staff and lots of books and photos.

How is St Louis? I grew up in UCity and went to Webster College and Washington U. Live in Colorado now.

Good Luck!!
