Hi My mom and I are searching for any information reguarding the Santa Fe railroads dining car service between 1920 and 1942. My grandfather was a chef on the Santa Fe during those years. His name was William (Wild Bill) Helenberg. He was also on FDR's campaign train and was FDR's chef or one of them. Mom has told me that he worked for Fred Harvey, and not the Santa Fe, proper. If anyone can help me find any information, photos, or anything that may mention MR. Helenberg My mom and I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Sincerely M.J.Borkowski

I would start by asking the California State Railroad Museum. Their web site is located at: http://www.csrmf.org .
There are two groups:
1 The Santa Fe Railway Historical and Modeling Society, on the Web at: http://www.atsfrr.com/
2. The Santa Fe 3751 Steam Locomotive group, called the San Bernardino Railroad Historical Society, on the Web at: http://www.sbrhs.org
These are the 3 groups that come to mind first for me. I am in a bit of a hurry as I type this so pardon any mistakes with my grammar. I hope someone else can help, too!!!
