I am a student who is in charge of getting the proper sounds and video clips for our musical. We need some old sound and video clips of early 50's style trains. We're looking for leaving and entering the station and misc. sounds in a train station (ie. "all aboard!") If you have any or know of anyone who does we need to use them! Thanks!

Suggie:
There is a company in California called Daylight Sales. I get their catalogs but don't have one handy to give you better contact info. You can do a yellow pages search online. But I recall they have various train sounds recordings and maybe one of those will suit your needs. Good luck with your show.

Hi, Ryan!

This is Margaret (SP fan), using Daniel's log-in. (He is my son, from whom I caught the railfan "bug" around 25 years ago!)

To borrow videotapes that would have what you want for your musical, please check with the National Railway Historical Society:
http://www.nrhs.com

They have an extensive video library, and will rent videos to NRHS chapters and bona fide organizations, not individuals. Some NRHS chapters also have video libraries, and will rent videos to individuals. I am pretty sure that the NRHS National WILL let you rent videos, if they are rented to your SCHOOL.

Good luck, and I am sure your musical will be GREAT! (Wish I could see it!)

Margaret

P.S.: Please let us all know what you found, and how the musical went! :-)
