I am a die hard Pennsylvania Reading Seashore Lines fan, my prime was in the early sixties; baldwins, P70 coaches and RDC's!! Boy I sure do miss riding in the rear vestibule of a P70 coach from Atlantic City to 30th St. Station in Philly!!

One of my finest memories is riding the last train to leave Atlantic City Union Station on Saturday, February 25, 1965. I took some pics which can be viewed on 3 PRSL screensavers I have available. I rode the rear vestibule on that day too and it was quite cool!! As we proceded west over the Thoroughfare Bridge the track crew started moving the tracks to the new station. When I returned on the evening train that day the track was completed, I was actually quite sad as the old station would soon serve buses instead of trainloads of shore travelers as it had since 1933.

The fact I was able to ride the Old Main Line is my biggest highlight. Traveling thru Sykesville, Ellicott City and the Patapsco Valley in to Relay and then across the Thomas Viaduct was just great.

That's great, Oat! I went on a fantrip bac in the mid sixties that left from Philly and went to Harrisburg..I can't remember the exact route but we changed over to B&O diesel E8's in Martinsburg and then ra down a freight only line to Harpers Ferry and stopped there for 2 hours. I still have a few pics somewhere. Then we went down the main line to Point of Rocks ad the old main line to Baltimore where we changed to an electric GG1 for the return to Philly. It was great!

I started with the P-RSL (PLEASE, don't omit the hyphen) in '67. I stayed there until we were swallowed by Clownrail.
Today, as far as I know there are only three of us left still running trains : 1 for Amtrak, 1 For Conrail and 1 for NJT.
