Just in case you haven't already heard, a Amtrak train (Niagra Falls-New York City) hit the rear end of a CSX train. Happened eary this afternoon. No one seriously injured according to the latest on MSNBC.

I have heard some conflicting follow-up items. One report said both trains were going 5-10 mph, but another report stated the CSX was going 7 mph while the Amtrak was going about 40mph. The last report is more believable, due to the large number of injuries.
Report also stated that the engineer commented that the lineside signal was not clear and that he was not real familiar with the engine he was operating at the time. There is also concern that the engineer had a medical condition. Could this be similar to the commuter train collision that occurred in New Jersey a few years ago?
