Can anyone tell me if the Raleigh NC station is patrolled at night? Is there a particular place for parking a vehicle for several days? And is it safe? Would appreciate any advice!

Dee, You can go to the Amtrak web site at www.amtrak.com. They have info on every station in the system. You can also call 1-800-USA-RAIL, they can give you info also on any station. Reggie

Reggierail, I can't find any information about the Raleigh NC station except its location, nothing about what is available there. I suppose I will have to call the 800 number but it has been my experience in the past that they have very little information of the type I'm looking for. Is there anyone out there who is familiar with that station?

Dee: the North Carolina Dept. of Transportation has a website- www.bytrain.org. Click on "station info". Seems to suggest that there is long-term parking for the Raleigh station. It appears that the station is not open 24 hours a day. Also found a telephone number for NC-DOT-Rail Division. It is 919-733-4713. Since they are located in Raleigh, they might know if the parking lot is patrolled at night and may be able to answer any other questions you might have.

It would probably be worth a telephone call to the Raleigh PD. I did the same with East Syracuse PD when Syracuse`s AMTK station was in East Syracuse.
