With all the new Pacific Surfliner Cars coming in service. Maybe Amtrak should use the Pacific Surfliner Cars on the Los Angeles-Las Vegas Route instead of the Talgo train that Amtrak has got for this route. The Benefits of the Pacific Surfliner Cars are better then the Talgo. The One Big thing is you can add extra cars on the Pacific Surfliner set then the Talgo set. And if one car need work done on it you have to take the whole train down the work on the one car. That no big Benefit with Talgos. Or is it? I know when the Day Light route starts up the Pacific Surfliner Cars will be used there. And since the Pacific Surfliner Cars are almost closet to the Superliner Cars and Calcars. You have these and the Amfleet and Horizon Cars. These are even better then the Talgo. The Other thing about the Talgo is it limit on the amount of people you can pack into a Talgo. I hae heard that about 230 people can get into the normal Talgo set which is a 12-car consist. While the Pacific Surfliner 5-Car Consist can have 427 people on board. And you only need One Locomotive to run on the Pacific Surfliner Set. On the Talgo you need one Locomotive and the Power Car or a second Locomotive. I hope to see the Pacific Surfliners in Las Vegas Soon
