The trainsmag.com newswire just said that Citing a declining number of contracts, Bombardier said it will lay off about 150 workers at its plant in Barre, Vt., by the end of the month, or about 25 percent of its work force in the Green Mountain State. The Plant, which among other things is assembling Amtrak's high-speed Acela Express trainsets, Currently employs about 540.
