I've tried to play with rail sale. It doesn't seem to work for me. For example On the rail sale chicago to LA - I would key in and see maybe 8 seats on the day I would choose for what $58. In that same rail sale area I would then choose my actual rail trip, Chicago to Lamy, and I would get the regular price of $200 or so. What do I need to do for the system to honor the rail sale price for those 8 seats on my destination short of LA?

Hey, here we go. May 10 and 14 (I'm assuming other dates too) there are no rail sale seats listed. Perhaps they have all been purchased by now, or there is a large group on board the train that date so they are unavailible.

H208 is the promotion code for the 30% off sale. That is different and cannot be combined with RailSale discounts.

I am actually going in June. Leaving Phila on June 15.
Since June isn't available yet, What I did was choose any date that had seats available as part of the rail sale for $58. I would be able to go from chi to la seeing 8 seats available then would go back and redo the same date with chi to lmy - that's when it wouldn't work. I tried many dates, so unless I used the entire route chi to la I'd get regular prices.
I did try the H208 for my ticket. I'm leaving Phila on 6/15 so the portion from Phila to Chi does get the 30% off but not the Chi to lmy portion. The $58 for that part would be great.
I do have tickets in hand at present for my trip (phila - lmy; return flagstaff - phila) and was planning on returning them for rail sale if available.
