Will have next 4th of July weekend a trip from Houston, TX to Birmingham, AL. It will involve a 12 hour stay in New Orleans (great place to enjoy the 4th of July celebration, my 1st one since I'm a mexican citizen).
Well the main thing is fi there are baggage lockers or storing service in New Orleans station so that we can drop off our stuff and enjoy the celebration?
Another question, I've been reading about the luggage size and things are quite confusing, question, will a golf bag be able to make it (or I just leave my golfing plans home)? I'll be traveling in coach class.

The last time I was in New Orleans, they still had storage lockers available, however, I don't think a golf bag would fit in one. If you are a first class (sleeper) passenger, there is a "first class lounge" in NOUPT caled the "Magnolia Room", I believe. While they don't really have storage space in that lounge, you can ask the attendant (if one is around, which may or may not be)to store your stuff back in the office, and he/she will most likely do it for you. I have left stuff with the attendant in that lounge before.
