This morning! Train #40 the Three Rivers, from Chicago to NYC, arrived in Akron, Ohio at 5:57 a.m., 3 min. early, and that's not the first time by any means.

AND... Later that same day that train arrived at its final destination of New York City at 7:38 p.m, 26 minutes EARLY and its westbound counterpart arrived in Chi-town 7 minutes EARLY this morning. Plus, when a train is late, I don't get all worked up about it, I just think of it as a little adventure!

Coachclass, I do think that you're right. I have a deep seated love of passenger trains. My dad worked for the Pennslyvania Railroad and I inherited his facination with trains. I most often now because of time constraints. I used to fly off of Aircraft carriers and still have a thing about being punctual. Of course, with Amtrak, ya just gotta loosen up and not take it too seriously in order to enjoy the experience. Thanx for the reality check.
