Train #1/2 will be going through to New Orleans starting november 4. #2 will arrive NOL,and #1 will originate all on Nov.4

Both trains will have a diner and Sighseer Lounge! [Cool] They haven't had it since Katrina. Also it is expected that the City of NOL and Tex. Eagle will get their Diner and Lounge back too.

Since train will go no further east than New Orleans, what will hook up times with the Crescent be like, do you know? Will there be any other hookup, e.g., bustitution, from Florida?

It appears, Ms. Sojourner, that 1-2(SAS-NOL)-19-20-58-59 have all returned to their pre existing schedules.

1-2 (NOL-ORL; The Gulf Wind) is presently of "no alternate transportation" status.

Incidentally, for those who have yet to see a new System timetable, here is the text of the Sunset annullment message printed therein:

The Sunset Limited normally operates three-days-weekly between Orlando and Los Angeles. Due to severe infrastructure damage from Hurricane Katrina, Train 1 and 2 will originate and terminate in San Antonio, TX until a date to be determined. Coach class and First class (Sleeping Car) service will be offered with food service being served from two areas of the Dining Car. No alternate transportation is available between San Antonio and Orlando via New Orleans.
