Hello:

Take a look at the U.S. Senate Bill S1530

S1530:

Amtrak Law:

The self-sufficiency mandate for Amtrak may be over.
-- if the bill passes as written!

I plan to contact my US Senator and
Members of Congress when the Bills come up
and urge them to support the bill that is intended to
-- Repeal the Amtrak Self-Sufficiency Requirements, and
-- Provide for improved passenger rail service.

Any comments?

"Let's roll"!

Thanks for the info on the bill numbers. I have already written my senators and will write again when the bill comes to the floor.

It would be easy to sit back and "let someone else do it" on this subject, but I urge you to at least send an email to your senator -- if you support saving Amtrak. If they don't hear from the constituency, they'll assume that everything's just fine. My senator has already told me he didn't think there was much grass-roots support for Amtrak and thanked me for my opinion. That's a sad commentary.

Silence is assent.
