Hi,

Although I've been on numerous Amtrak routes before, I've never really known where I am or where that track leads to, where the line is being dispatched from, etc. I know there are several route guides around (in the form "10 mins after XYZ, look left for ABC"), but I've never found anything giving more detailed descriptions and/or technical info. Can anybody suggest any websites out there?

I do now have the Mike Walker SPV Railroad Atlases now, which will help in future. Employee timetables would be good though.

I'll be on the Texas Eagle and the Lake Shore Ltd in November.

Thanks

Geoff Mayo.

I, too, have wondered the same thing. I've always thought Amtrak could make a few extra dollars selling high-quality route guides, with detailed maps, on board.
