Hey guys, check this out and tell me what you think. Click onto: http://home.earthlink.net/~kwl97/, or type "Unauthorized Train Stories" into your browser.

The forum broke the link. Remove the trailing comma:
http://home.earthlink.net/~kwl97/

Beware that this type of book is likely to be sensationalized (ie "enhanced" to make it more interesting).

geoffm,
Thanks for fixing my link. I don't know how it ended up broken. Anyway maybe you should read the book. You might be surprised at what kind of information is in their. Let me put it this way I did have to get a release from Amtrak President Gunn and the legal dept. before I could have it published. I thought our rail fans would love to hear about the crazy things that happen to us while we are out there working the rails, so I decided to put it in writing for you. You will need to have a strong stomach to read it because I did tell about some of the fatalities. I did tell about the drug and alcohol abuse. There are stories about train wrecks I was involved in and other wrecks in which I wasn't involved. All the stories are true.

Sorry, my comment wasn't meant in spite. But I know what some book editors can do to perfectly good stories.

For employment you need to go to;http://www.teamrewards.net/amtrakjobs/ then "search for jobs". Follow the prompts from there.

do you know how many Amtrak cars are mothballed and how many are wrecked that could be fixed?

No boyishcolt I sure don't. It's my understanding the main repair shop for the west coast is in Los Angles. I really don't know where they moth ball the other cars.

Most of the cars are mothballed at Beech Grove,Indiana. This is Amtrak's main car shop. They also have a shop at Bear,Delaware.

That's right espeefoamer:
The main repair shop is in Beech Grove. When we can't remember the right answer we know we can always rely on a "foamer" to have it for us.
