I have a question that has been driving one of my Co-Workers absolutely NUTS for the last two months because NOBODY seems to know the answer to it. Here is the question he is trying so desperately to find out.

DOES ANYNE KNOW WHY THERE IS NO "C" IN AMTRAK???? WHY DONT THEY SPELL IT AMTRACK???

I don't know; maybe it's the "Madison Avenue" influence. Sort of like "Trak Auto" or "Krispy Kreme".

The name came from AMerican TRavel trAcK. I think the name was given by an ad agency. Maybe they chose to leave out the "C" because it looked better.

Eric, that's the info I have also. I haven't been able to find the reason, but that's where Amtrak comes from. Reggie
