UP DS 73 just told the UP 9184 south that Risk management called and
reported some sort of broken gas line at Chular CA.
UP DS 73 told the UP 9184 to wait a while near Salinas CA.
Chular is located about 10 miles south of Salinas CA on the former SP Coast Line.
I do not think that Amtrak Coast Starlight 14 has passed chular so this incident will
probably delay that train as well.
BTW the UP 9184 did turn out to be the QRVDO as I guessed earlier
today. This info was heard as of 627 PM(8-30) on AAR radio channel 14.

I have posted further updates to this on this board. Amtrak 14 is indeed stuck behind this mess. Here is that other discussion site:
