My daughter was on the east-bound Empire Builder on Friday 1/25 when they were delayed near Watertown, Wisconsin for about an hour. They were told the train had hit a pedestrian, but there has been nothing in the Milwaukee paper about it. Does anyone know what happened?

Judy, Although I do now know what happened to cause that hour delay on the EB which your daughter was on, I cann assure you that the train DID NOT hit any pedestrians.

If the train did hit someone, the delay would have been at least 3 or 4 hrs long. It would take at least that long for AMTRAK and local officials to conduct their investigation of the incident.

Hope this bit of info will give you some peace of mind.
