For the past ten days or so, I have been tracking the arrival times of the trains that we will be taking this June. The LSL and the 3 Rivers are close to averaging on time but the Texas Eagle averages about 3 1/2 hours late. Not that it really matters but I'm curious as to the reason.
Thanks,
Mark

I can't tell you exactly why, but when I took Sunset that meets up w/ Texas Eagle in San Antonio, ( week of March 8-16) I was told we waited in San Antonio for two hours because of a problem with the track that the Tx Eagle takes. Said everyone had to take a bus for about two hours after they got off the train somewhere along the way. When we stopped in San Antonio on the way back, I noticed a bus and people getting on the bus.

I checked it for two or three weeks several months ago and it was averaging about three hours late at that time. We had just ridden it and it had been "close" to on time northbound but the typical three hours late southbound. I don't know why they run behind so often, it's horribly slow even when it's ontime! Unfortunately it's the only train out of DFW except the Heartland Express which doesn't connect on the other end. I'm still hoping we'll get the Crescent Star. (Don't discourage me, I like living in my dream world!)
