ARE THE SUPERLINER FAMILY BEDROOMS CAPABLE OF HOLDING 2 ADULTS AND 2 CHILDREN (AGES 13 AND 9) COMFORTABLY?

A few years ago, I took a family sleeper with my parents and sister from FLG to CHI. My sister was 13 and I was 11, and everything went fine. The room is fairly large, and we each had out own bed. We all slept comfortably, and the attendants were very courteous.

Just bear in mind that the children's beds are smaller than the two adult beds. The lower child's bed is 4' 9" long, and the upper bunk is 4' 7" long. The room itself is 9' 5" wide and 5' 2" deep (about half the size of a small bedroom in a typical suburban home).

It has the benefit of having windows on both sides, but they are not as wide as the windows in other rooms.

If that would suit you order early as there is only one family bedroom per car, leaving just two or three per train. Thus they sell out fast.

I ran a tour a couple of years ago & had 3 adults & 2 children in the family room. It was quite cramped, but, they were a close knit family. The price is great but the noise level on the lower level is quite a bit higher than on the upper level.

My wife, son, and I use the family bedroom when we travel Superliner and it is fine for sleeping. In fact, since the top beds are so close to the ceiling, my wife usually sleeps on the bottom kid bed and curls her feet onto the end of the lower adult bed which is right beside the end of the kid bed.

Our main complaint with the family bedroom is the a/c circulation is not so great as there are not enough vents for a big room. We take fans and extension cords and it works out okay. The small windows aren't great but when we go thru scenic areas, there is always the lounge car.
