I am posting this message to Mr. Gunn, and his backers...I personally am a laid-off employee of Amtrak. The REAL workers in this country be it railroad or other jobs, have always been given the shaft. We, the hard working dedicated workers have always been the ones keeping businesses rolling, while most managers just come up with dumb ass ideas while taking home fat pay checks. Please get rid of the coffee-drinking/feet on the desk greedy managers and get the real workers there jobs back. I personally do not see a manager in a suit and tie loading and unloading these trains. America has fallen on its ass, and until we wake the hell up it will continually get worse. I am posting this for the REAL workers of this great nation......

This is something I have not heard about from Mr. Gunn. On a recent rail trip, I noticed numerous situations involving a drop in passenger service due to the layoffs of numerous Amtrak workers. Luggage racks on the trains overflowing with baggage and on several instances, the use of the outside storage areas on Superliners to store baggage. This is directly related to the checked baggage service being dropped at several major stations. The bus transfer from San Antonio to Dallas required by a late train #422 was a madhouse. The one Amtrak employee at the station to assist the passengers was covered in sweat & although obviously stressed out did an excellent job. I have noticed over the past several years that more managers doing less & less, combined with less front line employees doing more and more is the norm. Something has got to give and the issue of these dedicated Amtrak employees who have been laid off needs to be addressed. Reggie
