Hi I was wondering if any of you guys or gals could help me, I have tried emailing amtrak numerous times but they seem not to want to reply. We are planning to do a four week train tour of the us next year using a rail pass. I need to know which thruway routes are included in the rail pass and which incur extra cost. I am also trying to get hold of a copy of the amtrak travel planner as this seems to be not available in the uk. If you can let me have one please email me. I am sure we can arrange some way of remuneration. Feel free to email me if you want Paul@paul-sinclair.com

Greatly appreciated

I have used Leisurail (based in the UK) and can highly recommend them. They will book your pass, your reservations, and even accomodation. I think it cost about £5 per leg last time I used them. They can also send you the travel planner and both Amtrak timetables, the latter of which contain details about thruway buses. You'll need your passport number to book the rail pass.

Reservations 0870 7500222
Brochures 0870 7500246 www.leisurail.co.uk

There are probably other agencies that do as good a job, but as I say, I've had no problems with them.

Looks like you need a little help. Try http://www.leisurail.co.uk/pages/railpasses.htm and scroll down until you read the big words "USA PASSES". That tells you about the passes. Secondly, although they may not have their own Amtrak brochures, they do stock Amtrak's own brochures. Give them a ring or send them an email asking for a copy. After all, they are one of Amtrak's listed International agents. What more do you need?
