Can someone provide the latest info on when the Texas Eagle will be reouted between Dallas and Texarkana. Which direction of travel, and which origin dates from these two cities? Thanks.

What?

The Eagle is being re-routed? I'll be on it from Austin to Joliet August 29, returning on September 1.

What's the scoop?

sorry 'bout that

Train 21 (southbound Eagle) will be on the ex-Cotton Belt between Texarkana and Big Sandy, TX. I don't know the exact schedule but it will be ongoing until mid or late October I believe. UP is doind major trackwork between Longview and Little Rock and is rerouting trains to give the work crews a window. The Northbound 22 has hit severe delays here if it gets caught up in the congestion. However, lately there has been a slight improvement in 22's performance. It is still rotten, just not quite as rotten. The extra padding helps too.

NARP says the southbound train will be rerouted September 1 through 5 (Texarkana departure dates). We're counting on it for September 1!

I'll be on the southbound September 1. I get on at Joliet and depart at Austin, September 2. I'll be in 2120, room 5. Stop by and say hi.
