The Amtrak computer shows 3 horizon fleet cars going on today's #1 from NOL-Houston for a Houston-Galveston special. Does anyone have info on that train?

These cars are being used on a train that is called the Texas Gulfliner. This train is an experiment to see if there is enough interest by the public to start a commuter train between Houston and Galveston. There will be trains running from League city to Galveston this weekend. The train will be running on all the holiday weekends between now and Memorial Day 2003. These train rides are free to the public but you have to have reservations. The reservation can be made though the Galveston railroad museum and you can find more information about the train on there website.
