We're taking the Coast Starlight from L.A. to Seattle, and the Empire on to Chi. early next month. Any recent trip reports on those routes, with all gory/glorious detail, would be most appreciated. Thanks...

I rode the Empire Builder RT from CHI to MSP and back in June and had a great trip. It is known for being on time and having good service personnel. You are welcome to read my travelouge at www.geocities.com/coachseats and then go to the travelouges section.
