amtrak upgrading from just bedrooms, to entire sweets, for instance making the bottom of a sleeping car (what is now the accessible and family bedrooms) into a much larger room that would take up about half of the length of the car. i think u could make these rooms, and then modernize it to make it have more of a bedroom feel. while there would be one or two per train i think this could be a good idea or those the upper class to travel. kinda like a cruise on rail.

of course this would only be on superliners, because it would be impossible to get through on a viewliner.

But would it sell? Probably the most practical configuration would be to take over the area used by rooms 11-14 and room F. But a room that takes that much space would cost a bundle for the traveler. Something in the neighborhood of $1,500-$2,000 per night to make up for the loss of the individual rooms. Would there be enough takers to make it worthwhile?

Personally, I'd like to see them make larger rest rooms, and standard bedrooms with a bit more wiggle room, before they make oversized luxury bedrooms.

But I have wondered if it might be worthwhile to have one luxury sleeping car at one end of the train. Maybe an all Deluxe sleeping car with nicer than average furnishings and an exclusive lounge or diner/lounge on the lower level. But again comes the question, would it sell? It might attract Hollywood and Pebble Beach types, but those folks could just as easily rent a private railcar.
