I'll be taking a trip on the Surfliner the end of January. Are their likely to be any promotions (two for one, buy one get 50% off of second etc.) offered between now and when I travel?
I seem to remember that January usually brings some sales.

Usually, the best deals are on long range trains, liek the Coast Starlight or the Southwest trains. The surfliner is a FAIRLY fixed price, more like a commuter train even though it is not, and people always take it no matter what month it is. But if you are travelign with kids its half off ALWAYS and if you travel with 3 people the 3rd is free, and the second is half off (adults) -- But I dont think you can save if you book ahead of time becdause I got the itinerary once and handed it to the agent and I got the same price as the paper I printed off the net a week ago..
