i just checked for the heck of it since i'll be on the same train next week- tonight it's running 17 hrs and 55 minutes late!!

I was checking on that one because this coming Friday I'll be boarding that train in New Orleans. It was supposed to depart New Orleans around 10:30 PM and it didn't leave till 4:25 PM the next day!
What that means for me is that after work next Friday, I've got to drive 4 hours down to New Orleans and get to the Amtrak ticketing station before they close at 10PM (I did the "pick up the tickets at the station" deal instead of having them mailed.) So then, if the train's way late like that again, I may have a long wait in the station after we get our tickets. Thank goodness I took them up on the discounted upgrade for a sleeper room for that leg of the trip- by that time I may really need a good rest!
