What long distance Trains leave from or stop in L.A.? I havent ridden a single level Amtrak Train for a very long time, in California theres the Surfliners, the Californias,(those 2 Trains have upper and lower level) and the only long distance Trains I've ridden are the Coast Starlight and the South West Chief, they have Supperliners.

Best way to answer your question, Mr. Ortiz, is to review an Amtrak timetable.
My understanding, even though I've haven't been near the West coast since 1991 (not a boycott, just no reason) is that there is one set of "protect" equipment assigned to LA that is comprised of single level Horizon cars. I THINK there is still an ex-GN Great Dome available for service.
This equipment is used for service such as for a late Starlight, or if a Surfliner set must be withdrawn. Also, I believe the equipment is used for excursions.
Otherwise, the only single level equipment, be it Amtrak or commuter agency, on the West Coast is the Talgo sets that get as far south as Eugene, OR.

Mr Norman is right, the single levels are used as a "fillin" train set during busy times. But 1 train set will be used for the 2nd LAX - SLO train in the not to distant future.

And yes, the Super Dome is in town. Going thru an inspection, as I understand it, for use on the 2nd LAX - SLO train, whenever that starts to run.

Just this morning (Fri 7/16) an Amtrak Surfliner with all single-level Horizon equipment was operating; it left Oceanside (northbound) just after 9am.
