I read in the general orders that any train exceding 125 Miles in a LD train. Only the hiawatha(86m),OKJ-SAC-ARN capitol(125M), and surfliner LAUPT-GTA(111m) are Short Distance trains.

Do you mean "exceeding 125 miles IS a LD train"? That would make virtually all Amtrak trains long distance trains, including the NE corridor, with the exception of the ones you've already stated!

Perhaps exceeding 125 miles is an 'intercity' train and thus must be operated by Amtrak rather than a commuter transit agency.
