I am travelling soon on the Crescent and it will be my first rail trip in awhile (first since 9/11). I have been recently diagnosed with diabetes and am curious if there are security issues boarding a train with medications and syringes? We will be boarding first in ATL then later in WAS and NYP to return.
Does anyone have any insight to these concerns?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Nope, no security issues. You can board carrying your pocket knife, syringes, shotgun {if it's in your luggage}, Buck hunting knife or practically anything you want to carry with you. {hint: you probably will be questioned if you're carrying a law rocket launcher...}
I routinely carry my Buck and my paintball gear with me on my train rides. No need to check any of that stuff.
IOW, you will not get the "cavity search" the airlines practice.

Thanks so much for the helpful info. I can only wonder what flying would be like now with this.
