Greetings all! I am taking a trip from San Francisco to LA this Summer and am taking the Coast Starlight to San Luis Obispo. I was planning on then hopping the Pacific Surfliner to Santa Barbara and then either the CS or PS to LA. Any advice, ideas? Should I take the CS or PS from Santa Barbara to LA? How about from SLO to SB?

Get to SlO and take 774 south first thing in the morning. This way you get to see the California Coast. Don't trust the Starlight as with the UP
trackwork in Oregon it will make all trains late and you will miss the Coast. If you want to go SLO to Santa Barbara take 798 and then 768 to Los Angeles from there.
