Yesterday I went on a trip up the Hudson from New York Penn to Albany for lunch via Amtrak's Aderondeck and Empire Service. Click on the P32AC-DM to view the log. I also have a log of the The Lakeshore or the Empire? from Syracuse, NY to NYP from back in February.

Unless my mind is decieving me it was called Jacks, it was on State Street near Pearl Street in downtown. My gradfather liked it becase the waiters were dressed 'the old fashioned' way in jakcets and ties. Sadly its a little too far for those who are stuck on a layover in Rensselear. (Across the river from the city.) (This happens particualary on the Westbound Lakeshore Limited when one of its trains is late, my Grandmother was stuck there for 3 hours once, problem on the train from Boston.)

Oh, yes, Jacks, you chose my favorite place in downtown Albany. Great rack of lamb last time I had it (haven't been there for a couple of years).

That was a nice day trip. Thanks for sharing the log and photos. The Hudson River has always provided a scenic ride to Albany. I used to travel to Utica. The Mohawk Valley was also very scenic.
