LOL Actually I will be throwing a party in a virtual 3D community. Safer and I can go home by leaving the desk - got my costume from last year. It's worth another run.
Earlier in the day the local parade in our area. Watch the kids go by in their costumes and see whose mother made something original for them.
The Village Halloween Parade in Manhattan is commercialized and a big hassle now, with none of the soul and magic that used to make it special.
Do people on Halloween dress up in costume on the trains when they ride? Always wondered of maybe on holidays something happened, like a train at 11:59pm on Dec 31st etc?

D David, we were on the Southwet chief on Halloween. No one was wearing costumes but the conductor made an annoouncement for all the children to come to the lounge car for trick or treat bags.

Yeah, like answering the front door every 5 minutes to give a new set of kids more teeth-rotting sweets (fruit doesn't go down too well, the ungrateful s_ds)... argh!
And the occasional kid STILL chucks eggs at houses that have been generous to them.
At what age is one considered "too old" to trick-or-treat? And has anybody asked for the trick? Apparently extremely few kids will have a trick ready as they assume everybody will go for the treat. Personally I don't fancy it.

Off rails and topic, but I guess, Mr. GeoffM, you have to be nice to your little hooligans, whoops hobgoblins, over there just as we must over here.
For Halloween 2001, I'm sorry, but I was just not in the mood to participate. I placed a sign in my yard about a week in advance of All Hallows saying I was not participating this year. I then put the 6 quid I usually spend on candy in a firefighter's boot for a 9/11 relief fund.
You know what I had to listen to from a mother in the neighborhood? "you scared my children" . Apparently, there is some kind of entitlement, 9/11 notwithstanding, that says you had best give the little urchins what they expect.

I know its off topic, but it's not like theres a rule saying we have to be politically correct, right?
but anyway, I think I mite just kick it with the Homies, unless they got something planed, I used to trick or treat, maybe someone will have a party or something, guess I'll have to just wait and see

Well, there certainly is such a rule, young man. But it only applies to Democrats. My understanding is that you are too young to vote. Correct? So I think you can get by here on a technical. You haven't actually registered to vote yet, right? So, I think you're OK. And if you're called on it, they'll probably just make you do three Hail Hillary's and maybe an hour marching around with a placard in front of some car dealership selling SUV's.

We had rainstorms roll through Houston during prime TorT time. I think we had 4 knocks. I answered the door in my t-shirt and shorts, holding a bottle of wine, listened to the TorT chorus, and stated "Sorry, I got nothing... ya want some wine?" The looks were priceless.
