In summary, he says his goal is to not dismantle Amtrak. Link

I didn't want to register with the Sun for just one article. But to address your summary, saying he doesn't want to dismantle Amtrak doesn't mean much. At best he is mistaken about the feasability and effectiveness of his own plan.

Mineta is a Bureaucrat. You MUST read between the lines whenever a bureaucrat speaks.

If you can find a non-register site for this information, post it.

Poor Normie,

Everytime I see a picture of him he looks more and more confused! Take what he says with a large grain of salt!

In the 2004 election Connecticut politicians stressed rail and mass transit well that didn't last. Chris Dodd talked about it but scince he had no real competition he had to talk about something. It lasted 5 minutes after the polls closed. For those who miss news about "The Big Dig" in Boston stay tuned to The New Haven Q-Bridge project. This bridge spans New Haven Harbor. There is a small draw bridge that spans a small river. It has been closed for repairs for over two years, this is after it was repaired six months earlier.
