Some threads back I mentioned that there is a great rib restaurant in Chicago Union Station. Soujourner asked the name of it. I couldn't remember for sure but thought it was Robinson's. I just clicked into Train web site what's new. There is a travelogue by Loraine Symons on the Southwest Chief. It is very interesting and has lots of very good pictures. There in the 3rd picture is Robinson's. So Soujourner is not only the name but also a picture!

That was an interesting read, even if it was a bit difficult finding. I'll paste it here:

Thank you so much for the info, TL. And for the link, Mike, which I will check soon.

Next time I'm changing trains in Chicago, I hope the train gods smile on me and give me time to walk around, and I'd like to lunch in Greek Town or the Walnut Room.

soujourner, with Marshall Fields becomng Macy's the Walnut room may soon be a thing of the past. I hope not as it is really lovely.

The Walnut Room is reported to be "safe".

Federated Department Stores, Inc. would be tinkering with some "real' Chicago traditions if they make too many changes at the State Street "flagship' store. Walnut Room, the 100' high Xmas tree, Frango Mints....that is "real stuff' for native Chicagoans (I'm not; I'm from New York).

Something tells me Federated, as owner of the Macy's and Marshall Field's brands, is starting to "think twice"; possibly the outcome could be a branding such as "Macy's Marshall Field's on State Street' or "State Street Marshall Field's by Macy's" ("on the street" it would simply continue as "Field's"). This would give them leverage to proceed with the rebranding of the other outlets. I think there would be less resistance from the younger clientele frequenting Water Tower Place or the suburban malls.
