Today I went to San Diego with my family to watch the Dogers Play againts the Pawdrays, we got to the Station and Boarded the 9 o clock Train to SD

 -

Its was a Special Day today because Amtrak and The SDT (San Diego Transit) had some Schhedual Changes made to acomadate L.A. Doger Fans, The Train was very crowded and we were barly able to get 5 seats for us all.
The ride went pretty smoth, heres the photos from the Train of Stations we stoped at.

Heres Santa Ana
 -

And Heres San Juan Capa Strauno
 -

It was a very sunny day and the view was Great, lots of Scienery along the way

 -

When we got in to SD, I notice a new Remodeled section of The Depot that wasnt there before, there was a rumor that an art group had wanted to place a black box on the roof of the old Santa Fe Depot, a plain Giant Black box. it was suppost to be Artistic- but they said it was very ugly looking from the Sketches that were made, the big box shaped thing there building on to the roof is this "Art" thing that theywere talking about, and by They, I mean San Diego residence, I heard about it threw a SD Cab Driver of the Mini Cab Company, the world's first ever All Electric Cab Co.

 -

My Family went too get in line for trolly tickets, while I stoped for a Photo of our Train

 -

While I was Photographing our Train, one of SD Transit's New Red-Cars rolled up! and I got a picture of that to!, I had been waiting to see one up-close for awhile

 -

When we got on the Trolly and went to Petco Park we went to get our tickets, but something was wrong with them and we couldnt get in, but then they exchanged em for real ticket and we got in!

Inside the Statdium I had a Great View in The Trolly Yard

I even got to see 2 of the New Trollys Couple Together!

 - - -

Also an ols CN Unit was park there as well, didnt think I see a Canadian Locomotive down there in SD

 -

I went to my Seat when the Game Started

 -

The Game Started out pretty good

 -

 -

The Dogers were going real good, and the had a score of 5 to nothing, but the Podrays kept walking the Bases, after awhile most of the pawdrays fans had decided to leave early, but soon after started to get some runs in, then ended up tied the game

The game went into extra inings and the Padres won- ohwell, at least you can still make fun of the pawdre fans that left early!

Every one went out to the trolly Stop to go home, An announcement said That Several Speacial Events Trains were waiting to take people home and to not all crowd onto just one Trolly, The were Several Trollys backed up waiting in line one behinde another, there was lots of SD Trolly and the usual Frieght Traffic, it was a pretty cool site!

 -

 -

After getting back to Santa Fe Depot, We got on the Train and went Home

 -

 -

The End!

So wha'd ya think?

I think I missed out on a lot by becoming a college basketball fan instead of a baseball fan.

I mean taking trains to the ballpark seems like such a natural thing to do.

Thanks for posting your pictures.

Thanks, Jonathon. Reminds me of the time we took Caltrain to a Giants game in The City. That was just a week after 9/11. Rail is the best way to go to a ballgame, no question.

Great photos, too.

I was about to say something about your spelling of the Sandy Eggo team, but then I realized you do know how to spell it, and you're just playing around. But you might want to recheck your spelling of the electrified urban rail vehicles.

good work, Jonathon. You do quite well at photography. I find your pictures tell an interesting story. Someday you might be able to make a career out of this but you will have to work on your spelling. From one poor speller to another let me tell you a pocket dictionary has become a very good friend to me. Good luck!!!

Good trip report, Jonathon!! I just wish your spelling was as excellent as your photography! You REALLY REALLY REALLY need to work on that, Buddy!

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the "Dogers" and the "Pawdrays" game.

Spectacular review, Jonathon! You made me feel like I was there. We don't have a major league team in Albuquerque, but you've got me all psyched to go to a minor league Isotopes game instead.

I just love the way you write and your pictures are definitely as good as anything you'll ever see in the papers.

Thanks, buddy!

p.s. A wise man once said, "Great writers can't spell and good spellers can't write."

San Juan Capistrano.

Do they not teach California History in the elementary, middle and high schools in California anymore, let alone the UC system?

(At UCSB, it was a required course to graduate back in the day!)

No matter your faith, Fr Junipero Serra and the Franciscan missions are important to the development of California!

I may be from Kansas City now, but La Ciudad de la Nuestra Reina de Los Angeles is part of me forever.

As someone who attended CA public schools all his life: We had a California History unit in 4th grade. When I was at Cal Poly Pomona, we had to take an American History class, and another history class to make sure "our souls were fed". I took a class about the history of Latin America.
I'll admit I pretty much slept through both of them. I'm an electrical engineer, and I doubt that someone will ask me about Juan Peron while planning 15kV SF6 switch locations. [Razz]
